A slot looks like a wall of spinning pictures, but its rules fit on a single page. Learn a handful of words — reel, row, payline, WILD, SCATTER — and every game in our temple starts to make sense. Here is a calm walk through the basics, with examples from Treasures of Horus and Pharaoh’s Tomb.

Reels and rows

Reels are the vertical strips that spin, and rows are the horizontal lines of symbols you see when they stop. Both of our playable games have 5 reels and 3 rows, so every spin ends on a grid of 15 symbols. In Treasures of Horus the reels are five carved sandstone drums with golden symbols; in Pharaoh’s Tomb they turn inside an ornate golden frame decorated with falcons and lotuses.

Reels are counted from left to right, and the order matters: in both games, winning combinations are read starting from the leftmost reel.

Choosing your bet

Your bet is the number of coins you stake on one spin. In Treasures of Horus the total bet can be 100, 250, 500, 1,000, 2,500 or 5,000 coins, split evenly across 20 lines, so a 1,000-coin bet means 50 coins per line. Pharaoh’s Tomb accepts bets from 100 up to 10,000 coins and has a max bet button. On a keyboard, the ↑ and ↓ keys change the bet in Treasures of Horus.

Wins are paid as multiples of the bet, so the bet scales everything: a bigger bet brings bigger wins and a balance that empties faster. A small bet gives you more spins to learn a game.

Paylines and ways

A combination only pays when the game can read it. Treasures of Horus uses 20 fixed paylines, paths across the reels that are always active. A line wins with 3, 4 or 5 matching symbols, left to right from the first reel, and only the best combination on each line pays. When a line wins, fire runs along it, and the biggest wins are celebrated in three steps: Big win, Huge win and Treasure of Horus.

Pharaoh’s Tomb uses 243 ways to win instead: matching symbols on adjacent reels count from the left in any row, with no fixed paths at all.

Symbols, WILD and SCATTER

Every symbol has its own value in the paytable, which opens with the I key in Treasures of Horus. From highest to lowest, that game has Horus, Anubis, the Scarab, the Eye of Horus, the Ankh, the Lotus and the golden A, K and Q. Five Horus symbols on a line pay 1,000 × the line bet, which equals 50 × your total bet.

Two special symbols bend the rules:

  • WILD stands in for regular symbols to complete a combination. In Treasures of Horus it is the winged sun, and five of them on a line pay 2,000 × the line bet (100 × the total bet). It does not replace the Pyramid. In Pharaoh’s Tomb the WILD is the temple gates.
  • SCATTER pays wherever it lands, no line needed. In Treasures of Horus it is the Pyramid: 3, 4 or 5+ pyramids pay ×2, ×5 or ×20 the total bet.

Free spins and bonus rounds

Those same 3, 4 or 5+ pyramids also start 8, 12 or 16 free spins called the Gift of Horus. They keep the bet you started with, and new pyramids during the series can retrigger them.

Pharaoh’s Tomb has two features. Golden scarabs fill a meter, and 10 scarabs give 10 free spins with a ×2 multiplier. Three or more treasure chests open the Treasury, where you pick gold coins until three matching jackpots appear: GRAND ×1,000, MAJOR ×150, MINOR ×30 or MINI ×10 the bet.

Autoplay, turbo and quick stop

  • Autoplay plays a series of 10, 25, 50 or 100 spins. It stops when a dialog opens, when you leave the page or when your balance runs low.
  • Turbo speeds up the spins for players who already know the game well.
  • Quick stop: press SPIN again while the reels are turning, and they stop at once.

None of these change the result. The outcome of every spin is decided before the animation starts; the reels only reveal it. In Treasures of Horus, Space or Enter spins, A starts autoplay, T switches turbo, M opens the menu, F goes full screen and Esc closes a window.

Your first session

  1. Enter the lobby as a guest, or sign up to keep your progress in the cloud.
  2. Choose Treasures of Horus or Pharaoh’s Tomb. Both open full screen, need a browser with WebGL and play only in landscape, so turn your phone sideways.
  3. Look through the paytable before your first spin.
  4. Start with a small bet and watch how your balance moves.
  5. When the 30-minute reminder appears, take a real break.
