1. Our commitment
Horus Games should be enjoyable for every adult player, including people who use only a keyboard, a screen reader or settings that reduce motion. This statement covers the website pages of horusgames.com and our two playable games, Treasures of Horus and Pharaoh’s Tomb.
Our target for the website pages is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. The games are 3D scenes drawn on a canvas, which works differently from an ordinary web page, so we describe them separately: what already helps and what does not work yet.
2. What works on the website
- Keyboard navigation. You can move through every page and use links, buttons and forms with the keyboard alone: Tab and Shift+Tab move the focus, and Enter activates the selected element.
- Visible focus. The element in focus is clearly highlighted, so you always know where you are on the page.
- Text alternatives. Images have alternative text (alt).
- Semantic headings. Pages have a clear heading structure, so you can jump between sections with a screen reader. Long pages, like this one, also have a table of contents.
- Reduced motion. If you turn on reduced motion in your device settings, the site cuts back its animations.
- Sufficient contrast. Text and controls stand out clearly from the background.
- Three languages. Every page is available in Russian, English and Spanish; the language switcher is in the header.
3. Accessibility in the games
Both games open full screen. To make them usable beyond the picture, they offer:
- Keyboard shortcuts. In Treasures of Horus: Space or Enter to spin, ↑ and ↓ to change the bet, A for autoplay, T for turbo, I for the paytable, M for the menu, F for full screen and Esc to close.
- Screen reader support. Screen readers can reach hidden accessible buttons that announce the result of each spin, so you know what happened without seeing the reels.
- Reduced motion. With reduced motion on, the games stop the screen shake and speed up the reels, so spins are shorter and calmer.
- Sound off. Sound and music can be switched off, for example if the effects distract you or get in the way of your screen reader.
The games work only in landscape orientation. On a phone held upright, the game asks you to rotate the device.
4. Known limitations
- The 3D scenes are visual: the temple surroundings and animations cannot be fully conveyed through a screen reader.
- Some ornamental text drawn inside the game canvas cannot be read by screen readers.
- The games require landscape orientation, which can be a barrier if your device is fixed in an upright position.
If one of these limitations gets in your way, please tell us. Your feedback helps us decide what to improve first.
5. Browsers and devices
The website and the games run in desktop and mobile browsers, with nothing to download. The games need a browser with WebGL support; if yours cannot display them, try another up-to-date browser or another device. For the best results, keep your browser and assistive technology up to date.
6. Feedback and contact
If you meet a barrier on the website or in a game, write to [email protected] or use the contact form in the Help center. It helps us if you include:
- the page or game and what you were trying to do;
- your device, browser and any assistive technology you use;
- what happened and what you expected to happen.
If you need information from one of our pages in a different format, write to us and we will try to help.
7. Last review
