Unlimited Risk: the first standalone Windows version
Our turn-based world-conquest strategy game now stands on its own as a PC game: 147 countries on Earth’s real relief, with battles fought right on the map.
Unlimited Risk began as a prototype on a parchment map of 195 countries. To make the board readable at a glance, we removed the forty-eight most crowded: Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg hid Germany, while the Vatican, Monaco and San Marino hid Italy. That left 147 countries on Earth’s real relief, with ocean depths, surf and clouds — and now it is the first standalone version of the strategy game for Windows.
Battles unfold right on the 3D map in Napoleonic style: infantry in shakos fire a volley across the border, an officer in a bicorne points his sabre at the target, and the drummer quickens his beat while the dice roll. You face computer commanders of three temperaments — Recruit, Strategist and Veteran. The game speaks English, Russian, Ukrainian and German.
