About the game

PennyToy The Toy Workshop

PennyToy is a cosy, story-driven game about mending toys. London, May 1953: three weeks to the coronation, and the first bunting is going up over Thimble Row. Aunt Edith has left you her workshop at No. 7 and a letter with four rules. The second: look carefully — toys keep more than you'd think.

Eight-year-old Maggie brings Barnaby, the teddy her dad won at a fair before the war. Mr Higgins, a retired engine driver, brings Albert, a clockwork engine, for his grandson's visit. Miss Abbott, a former governess, brings a porcelain doll; Mrs Fenwick, just back from Bombay, a music box playing Brahms' Lullaby. You brush fur, sew a ladder stitch, fit a spring and file a comb tooth to a tuning fork.

Inside you find notes, photographs, an old postcard. Return the find or keep the secret — it's your call, and it changes the neighbours' letters, gifts and fates. And two of the stories turn out to be connected.

This is a presentation page: the game itself does not run on this site.
